On June 7th 2011 at a public announcement made at Holy Spirit High School, located on the banks of the
Manuels River,the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast and the Manuels River Natural Heritage Society jointly announced that
a new building to be named the "Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre" will be constructed on the south side of the Manuels River.
Joining Rotary and overall Project Chair Mr. Doug Russell and Manuels River Board Chair Mr. Gary Gallagher was Federal Minister Peter Penashue,
Provinical Ministers Susan Sullivan and Terry French, Mayor Woodrow French, Hibernia Management Development Company President
Mr. Paul Leonard and a large number of 'Friends of Manuels River'.
At the launch we introduced our new logo 'The Manuels River Experience'

At the same time we announced a major fund raising initative which is being led by Ms. Christine Hand, Owner/Operator of the Home Hardware store
located in Manuels Conception Bay South. Ms. Hand and her team comprising Mr. Jerry Young, Ms. Jacqui Morgan, Mr. Robin Summers, Ms. Andrea Gosse
and Mr. Ron Smith will be looking to all supporters of the River to aid us in our quest
