Geocaching on Manuels River
Our three caches on the river are all up and working. See geocaching.com for co-ordinates or send up an email and we'll get you started. Our caches have been active all winter and getting many 'finds'.
For those of you more into the sport don't forget there is a multicache which is located on the river. Called the Kelly's Treasure Multicache (GC1FHXR). Go online to http://www.geocaching.com and set up an account... it's free and will give you the information you need to start geocaching.
Good Luck.
The Manuels River is an ideal location for geocaching. The 8 km of linear trails up and down river make geocaching, a day of walking and a nature trip at the same time. Check out our geocaching page and follow the links to geocaching site to get more information.
Soon the spring will be here and we again will be offering tours. Last year 1000 students visited the River and received group tours. We will continue to do tours all summer.
The tours are conducted by volunteers and summer staff and are usually booked in advance but tours can be arranged on short notice, depending on staff availability.
This year we hope to have Dr. Jeremy Hall doing some special tours as well. Dr. Hall a professor of Earth Science at MUN is an expert on the Manuels River and can answer many of your technicial questions you have. Dates will be announced later.
And should you have a question at any time regarding the river please send it along and we'll we only to happy to get an answer for you. sent it to:
